The U.S. Navy has successfully tested the system of remote aircraft landing on the deck of the aircraft carrier ATARI (Aircraft Remote Terminal Approach Inceptor), reports Flightglobal. During its test officer aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, took over the management of the F/A-18E Super Hornet and successfully put him on the deck of the ship.

The system is able to control the aircraft at a distance of up to eight kilometers. Testing was conducted over two days, including the touch mode with the departure of the second circle: the fighter jet came in to land, touched the deck, and then took off.
