One of the main events of Monday was the decision of the Vice-Premier of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko for some time to retire and leave the post of head of the Russian football Union. The motive is clear: the endless litigation and doping scandals, initiated by Western organisations, should not distract the person occupying this position from preparing for the first in the history of the country home the world Cup. A few hours later after appearing in the media the news of the resignation Mutko his statement on this matter and on preparations for the 2018 world Cup in General was made by the FIFA leadership.
The international football Federation were sympathetic to the solution of Vitaly Mutko. Football officials are well aware of: Russian Deputy Prime Minister acted in the interests of the country and the upcoming FIFA world Cup, for which he received words of gratitude from colleagues from FIFA. The leadership of the organization noted the contributions of the former head of the RFU in preparation for the upcoming tournament and assured: this whole politicized scandals and dismissal will have absolutely no impact on the successful organization of the world Cup.
The Federation intends to continue cooperation with the Russian government, the football Union and the organizing Committee of the 2018 world Cup. Of course, since then, the work will be made some changes, but negatively on the process of preparation is certainly not affected. The meeting with participation of all parties involved, where further steps will be determined, will take place in the near future.
Despite all the attempts of the West, the world Cup 2018 will be held in Russia and will become, in the words of FIFA President, one of the best tournaments in history. And no one can take away from this football festival.
