The company Terrafugia has decided on the timing of the sales of flying cars: these hybrid vehicles will be released to the commercial market in the next year.
Terrafugia was founded in 2006. One of the projects of the company — machine Transition: this vehicle with folding wings, capable of operating on conventional roads as well as fly.
The test Transition is nearing completion. It is reported that a commercial version of the vehicle will use the internal combustion engine and an electric motor that receives power from the block lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4).
The machine is designed for two people — the pilot and passenger. The developers are confident that this hybrid form of transport will significantly reduce the number and length of traffic jams in major cities around the world.
We will add that last year the firm Terrafugia acquired by Chinese giant Geely, which also is the parent company of Volvo Cars (Volvo Personvagnar AB). It is not excluded that in the future some ideas Volvo in the automotive field will find application in flying cars Terrafugia.
