The latest generation of pistols from the Italian company Beretta will soon be available in stores. Today, March 3, portal range365.com reported that in the coming days, the Beretta APX will be sold in the United States.
Beretta APX is the first full-size pistol of the Italian manufacturer, made of polymers (previously issued Beretta subcompact Storm Px4 pistol with a polymer frame). APX was created to participate in the competition to replace the Beretta M9 pistols in the us army and was first presented in 2015 at an arms exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
In January of this year it became known that the competition, called XM17 Modular Handgun System, won the Swiss holding company Lüke & Ortmeier Gruppe (the owner of the German company SIG Sauer), submitting the tender, the SIG Sauer P320. In addition to SIG Sauer, the tender was attended by such eminent gun companies like Glock Inc., FN America, and Beretta, whose gun APX failed to pass the final phase of testing.
