Poland decided to send to US a request for delivery to the Republic of anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMS) Patriot national missile defense system, “Wisla”.
This was stated by the Minister of defence of the Republic, Anthony Macierewicz at a press conference after the opening ceremony of the XXIV International defence industry salon in Kielce, RIA Novosti reported.
“I signed today the decision to send the U.S. government and the American company Raytheon application for the order the Patriot system for the “Vistula” he said. We are talking about eight engines. To 2019 are given two batteries.” According to him, the other six will be purchased after 2020.
Macierewicz noted that at least 50% of the production of SAM will be done by the Polish military-industrial complex. “This is beneficial for the Polish economy and the army agreement,” he said.
