Younger brother of opposition leader Alexei Navalny who was sentenced in the case “Yves Rocher”, was released from prison after 3.5 years spent in prison.
Oleg Navalny, the younger brother of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, came out on Friday, June 29, to freedom from the penal colony number 5 in the village of Naryshkino in the Orel region.
Navalny explained that because “30 June falls on a Saturday, and the principles of humanity oblige to release prisoners on the last working day before holidays/weekends”, he goes free for the day early.
Near the colony he was met by brother and journalists.
At the end of 2014, the Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow found the brothers Navalny guilty of embezzlement of company funds “Yves Rocher” in especially large size. He received a 3.5-year suspended sentence and 5 years probation, his brother – 3.5 years of real life in the colony.
