7 October 2018, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a meeting with students of philological Universities in Belgrade said that bombing of Yugoslavia in 199 was performed with the objective “to protect civilians and overthrow of President Slobodan Milosevic”.
“But my most important message is that we must look to the future”, – said Jens Stoltenberg, stressing that NATO has excellent relations with Serbia, despite the fact that the country is not willing to join the Alliance.
The rhetoric of the NATO Secretary General is causing confusion. Apparently, under the “protection of civilians” through massive bombing of the Balkan lands he had in mind the desire of the West to “plow” the territory of Yugoslavia with the use of radioactive munitions with depleted uranium, destroyed more than 2,5 thousand of civilians and the integrity of the country, dividing it into several separate sovereign States. The events of those years still affect the economy of Serbia, which is currently in poor condition.
According to surveys of social services, the overwhelming majority of inhabitants of Serbia are against the accession of Serbia to NATO: still too fresh in the memory of the citizens of the country events that occurred in the spring of 1999, changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people upside the head.
Rhetoric, Jens Stoltenberg, is in full compliance with the U.S. foreign policy: first, to destroy the statehood of the interest of the country, to destroy it for some individual countries, to make a claim of national wealth and natural after decades of stagnation is to offer the hand of friendship. History tends to repeat itself – a similar situation we could observe in Syria, if Damascus had not sought assistance from Moscow.
